WISCON-SING on
the Web!
On March 6, 2008, David performed "Wiscon-Sing" at Auburndale
Elementary School in Auburndale WI and the Marshfield Herald newspaper
covered the event.
In addition to a lovely article, a staff photographer created a power point
slide show of images from the program and the sound of David's songs and the
kids participating.
This is by far the best "sample" of the Wiscon-Sing show ever,
so if you want to sample "Wiscon-Sing" go to:
http://www.marshfieldnewsherald.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20080307/MNH0101/803070440/1731/MNH01
The slide show is imbedded in the article.
To view the PowerPoint show only go to:

Summer Library Program / Wisconsin
Libraries

The theme for summer 2008 in Wisconsin is "Bugs".
I will be offering "Ants in my Pants" with a number of "Bug"
songs
such as Shoo Fly, There was an Old Woman who Swallowed a Fly, and Itsy Bitsy
Spider.
(more as I think of them- suggestions welcomed!)
All songs will be sing-alongs using guitar, concertina
and handmade banjo, dulcimer, and Native American Flute.
The
Illustrated Song

Children's Book Week is November 11-17
Familiar folk songs have been made into children's books.
Taking the process full circle, David has a slide show of the artwork from
these books
where parents and kids can sing along together!
Schooner
Songbag
A Wisconsin Humanities Council Chautauqua Program

David recently performed his Schooner Songbag in Wausau WI.
The review below is wonderful!

"DANGEROUS FOLK"
(Click above title for
calendar and web page)
Opening for the Kingston Trio this fall!
More information and sound clips at
www.myspace.com/dangerousfolktrio

David HB Drake, Julie Thompson and Cap Lee
have joined
their voices as "Dangerous Folk".
"Blowing in the Wind" is a sing-along concert of
those stirring songs that we all remember from
Peter, Paul, and Mary, the Kingston Trio, Pete Seeger, Tom Paxton,
Simon and
Garfunkel, Joni Mitchell, John Denver and more.
These songs were anthems of the 1960's and the
"Dangerous Folk" lead these songs
of making love, not war for
today's troubled world.
"Dangerous Folk" is a "mighty
wind" of classic folk music memories
with more songs than a Public TV
fundraiser.
"A Meeting Here Tonight!" presents the folk songs of faith.
Folk music has always been grounded in the spirit where the circle is
unbroken
The trio also is available to present the music from the
"No Child Left Behind?" CD by Cap
Lee's
"Whole Child Educational Reform" organization in cooperation
with Organic Arts.
